George and His Nighttime Friends
For some children, bedtime is about relaxation, but others find that they are unable to turn off their brains and drift off to dreamland. When the lights turn off, George becomes fearful of the dark and what could be lurking in the shadows. In the quiet darkness of the evening, George calls out for a nighttime friend to help ease his worries. He is greeted by a sweet and hospitable mouse who shows him that nighttime can be full of enchantment and wonder. A mole helps George escape into the illustrative world of books. George then helps a hyper-focused rabbit and fearful penguin learn to let go of their fears and focus on the present by taking a relaxing bath. Next, he finds a perky panda to play a game with, and he shares a late night feast with a hungry pig.
The beautiful artwork in this story will transport the reader to a whimsical and magical place. The author/illustrator artistically offers several nighttime rituals for sleepless children to try. This story will give children something bright and colorful to look at before going to sleep. The amusing characters and images will help children unwind at bedtime and rest with ease.
