The four March sisters (Jo, Beth, Amy, and Meg) live in Concord with their parents. Their father is a Civil War medic, while Marmee, their mother, is holding the household together in his absence. Marmee is a witch, and she’s teaching simple witchcraft to her daughters. But the Marches have to keep their abilities quiet, as some of their neighbors don’t approve. And now that things have started going missing, the family worry that suspicion may fall on them.

Leigh Dragoon’s Little Witches: Magic in Concord takes the beloved March sisters from Little Women and brings them to life in an alternate reality where magic is real. Dragoon has done a wonderful job capturing the spirit and personality of the March family as well as of their immediate neighbor and friend Laurie. This is a fun little mystery with just a touch of danger, but with everything tied up in the end in a satisfactory manner. A short bonus story is included at the end, “The Problem of Too Many Pests,” which helps further endear the girls to readers. Hopefully there will be more stories featuring the March girls, because this reimagining is simply too much fun!
