No Swimming for Nelly

This picture book is about a little pig named Nelly who didn’t like water. Her mother gave Nelly a swimming suit. She liked it so much that she wore it everywhere, but she didn’t like swimming, and she didn’t like water. When she went to Grandma’s house, her grandma said she would teach her how to swim. At first Nelly didn’t really like the water, then when she got in the pool, she really liked swimming. She didn’t want to stop swimming! And next morning after breakfast, she went swimming again and she was a champion. At the end of the book, Grandma gave her a medal.

I think it’s a good book because you have to overcome your fears. The pigs in the illustrations look really nice and friendly. I like all of this artist’s books because he is really good at drawing expressions on faces. This book shows you it can be fun to overcome your fears and learn new things. It’s hard when you are afraid. Any little kid who is afraid of something will like this book.
