Here are Grecian foods with unique twists, for delicious results. For example, Chicken Thighs with Sliced Ginger, Honey, Lime, and Cilantro is a bright, lightly sweet weeknight dinner made with just a handful of ingredients. Like most of the recipes, it was a snap to pull together and get on the table. Roasted Carrot and Pear Soup with Ginger and Curry Spices uses the brilliant technique of blooming freshly ground pepper in hot oil, along with pre-roasting the vegetables, to create a spicy (from lots of ginger), warming, and wonderfully satisfying soup for fall evenings. The many recipes for appetizers, salads, main dishes, and desserts are uncomplicated and require minimal effort. Make sure you try the Feta Wrapped in Phyllo with Sesame and Honey, a completely unexpected but crave-worthy explosion of flavor. The phyllo-wrapped feta comes out of the oven soft and pillowy; honey and a sprinkle of sesame seeds take it over the top. It’s easy and absolutely perfect. The book is full of gems like these, exciting to try, simple to execute, amazing to experience. Add in the fantastic photography and the authors’ engaging vignettes, and you have a book that is a true delight.
