The Clergyman’s Wife: A Pride & Prejudice Novel

The Clergyman’s Wife is a thought-provoking reimagining of Charlotte Lucas, Lizzie’s best friend, from Pride and Prejudice. Jane Austen fans new and old won’t want to miss this beautiful story of what love and passion can be. At times I found the story a little bittersweet; Charlotte’s mind was brilliant and sometimes sad to be in. Then Charlotte marries William Collins. Life with Mr. Collin’s is just that: life. Nothing more and nothing less. The character of Charlotte is relatable in many ways that I found charming. The writing is absolutely gorgeous and written in such a way that I immediately was taken back into a much simpler time. Molly Greeley was able to weave together a realistic story of life after Pride and Prejudice for Charlotte Collins, and for that I’m grateful. Austen books are some of my favorite classics, and I think Greeley truly made a name for herself.
