Copper Pennies (The Red Twins Series Book 1)
The year is 1937. Magda is starting her first day at her new job, which offers her an escape from living with a vile husband who represents her only chance of avoiding a life on the street. Then, she meets a handsome doctor who changes her life forever, introducing her to magic and opening her eyes to a darkness she never expected. In the present day, Magda is an old woman who befriends a single mom of twin girls. The two quickly find a connection between them but when an old foe returns, she has no choice but to confront him while helping her granddaughters to find their destiny.
The story travels throughout one woman’s lifetime, starting in 1937 and moving through time until it catches up to the present day. Magda deals with an abusive and cruel husband in her youth before she’s swept away by a surprising romance. The story then weaves toward the twin girls that play a key part in the fight against an ancient evil. The past comes back to haunt Magda as she struggles with the darkness that she found in magic, although the love she finds with her family gives her a new purpose in life and steers her toward the light.
Carrie D. Miller delivers a tale of family and magic, destiny and danger, as Magda finds love in an unexpected place during a journey involving both darkness and light. Copper Pennies, the first book in the Red Twins series, is a story about hope and love that explores the bond of family and the strength of sisterhood.
